Fire Inside
02:55
|
|||
It's a long dark night
Falling down on you
There's a hole inside
Where lonesomeness blows through
You better keep the fire burning
You better keep the fire burning
Burning all inside.
It's an all bright day
Surrounding you
Still a hole inside
Where emptiness blows through
You better keep the fire burning
You better keep the fire burning
Burning all inside.

The Bridge
03:16
|
|||
Born in 71,
Raised up seventeen years all alone
I found my myself mixed up like thunder
I found my world lying down under
So hard to cross the ridge
So many failures there to bridge
I found myself in a hundred rivers
My soul so dry but my body shivers
The closer I got to you
The more I fall into deep blue
Thought about getting lost in your head lights
Tried to stay up, tried to stay alive.
Born in 71
Still more then fifty-two years I burn on
Still I'm mixed up like thunder
Still my world's laying down under
My face so heavily torn
Each day it's getting harder to reach my home
I'm looking for room, ain't no rooms for rent
My landlord's laughing until he wets his pants
The closer I got to you
The more I fall into deep blue
Thought you & me could even bend the rain
Tears in my eyes like water down the drain.
The closer I got to you
The more I fall into deep blue
Thought about getting lost in your head lights
Tried to stay up, tried to stay alive.

Such A Fine Day
03:01
|
|||
Such a fine day
But let me say
I'm not doing that fine
In my little shack
I'm always sad
I'm riding behind.
See how we reel
And see how free
We are at last when day breaks
And when day fades.
On that open road
Doing as I've been told
I'm riding behind
In my little shack
I'm always sad
And I just felt like cryin'.
See how we reel
And see how free
We are at last when day breaks
And when day fades.
Such a fine day
But let me say
I'm not doing that fine
In my little shack
I'm always sad
I'm riding behind.
See how we reel
And see how free
We are at last when day breaks
And when day fades.

We Don't Run
05:35
|
|||
We don't run, we don't compromise,
We don't quit, we never do
We look for love to find it in the eyes
The eyes of you, the eyes of you
You are the road, that I've been riding on,
You are the rock I melt with anger,
You are the only one that keeps me going on
The eyes of you that sees right through
Here we are back up on the road again
And our breath just taste likes gasoline
And that's what keeps us always fresh and clean
The eyes of you, the eyes of you
You are the road, that I've been riding on,
You are the rock I melt with anger,
You are the only one that keeps me going on
The eyes of you that sees right through
We don't run, we don't compromise,
We don't quit, we never do
We look for love to find it in the eyes
The eyes of you, the eyes of you
We look for love to find it in the eyes
The eyes of you, the eyes of you
We look for love to find it in the eyes
The eyes of you that sees right through

Restless
05:10
|
|||
I'm riding through a restless night to the edge of town
I used to be up all night with wheels and darkness all around
Wild Jack's in the back seat saying it's a good time to fade
All I'm thinking 'bout is to run right out of shade.
You see me riding down a thin white line
Carried by angels I'm a rider on time.
You see me running roadside up and down
Carried by angels but I don't know where I'm bound.
Driving down that free lane, streets all wrecked
Gonna get myself a new car I will run right out of fate
Calm Mary's in the front seat tellin' things her mother said
All I'm thinking 'bout is covering a thousand ways.
You see me riding down a thin white line
Carried by angels I'm a rider on time.
You see me running roadside up and down
Carried by angels but I don't know where I'm bound.
Sitting in the darkness, the lights all go down
And I used to be up at night with wheels and darkness all around
Whole world's gonna tell me next morning sure will come
But I can't keep from running until the break of dawn.
You see me riding down a thin white line
Carried by angels I'm a rider on time.
You see me running roadside up and down
Carried by angels but I don't know where I'm bound.

Dry Land
04:14
|
|||
My father was a working man down by the coal mine store
He wore his trousers day by day ‘cause he hadn’t anymore
His monthly income would be just enough to pay the rent
To feed his family and pay back the debts by a friend.
But my love’s something shinin’ all in a fruit tree top
I gave her water day by day so that my fruits won’t drop
I pray for water day by day and week after week
For this dry land is far off from the sea.
He leaves his home every morning early around five
He pulled these damned coal cars for the half time of his life
And every morning sad eyes keep looking for the light
The rain kept pourin’ he pulled his strap up tight.
But my love’s something shinin’ all in a fruit tree top
I gave her water day by day so that my fruits won’t drop
I pray for water day by day and week after week
For this dry land is far off from the sea.
And when he finally reappear to the houses all in a row
With hands and soul all black of work and eyes filled up with snow
His sad and lonely eyes stopped looking for the light
O’er my dry land my sun sets for the night.
But my love’s something shinin’ all in a fruit tree top
I gave her water day by day so that my fruits won’t drop
I pray for water day by day and week after week
For this dry land is far off from the sea.

Northeast (Reprise)
05:06
|
|||
I got an old Volkswagen with my baby in
And I ride her all the way northeast
We ain’t got no money only fuely heads
And all her pretty dreams she’s tellin’
Sometimes she leaned back on the cars hood
But all her pretty dreams are torn
She waits for what is comin’ on
With her flower dress and barefoot.
We covered all the northeast state
As the factories been closed down
Run down industries we ride
From the gas fires to the interstate
If there’s no language I know how to speak
If my mind is torn and I’m occurring weak
I wish I’d be a sculptor to make the world see
We could have a hundred babies still ridin’ northeast.
I’ll take trip across the river with no name
I’ll ride deep into a forest filled with dark rain
I sat down in a local bar
A million boys around me shoutin’ boy you don’t get far
Now want you pull me out of this danger zone
‘Cause you’re the one I’m depending on
And my heart is beating like a big bass drum
But my summer is a summer without a sun
Now well I hate the city that I’m living in
And I smoke too much and I’m much to thin
Now want you pull me out of this danger zone
‘Cause you’re the one I’m depending on
Northeast …
I got an old Volkswagen with my baby in
And I ride her all the way northeast
We ain’t got no money only fuely heads
And all her pretty dreams she’s tellin’

Way Out
00:37
|
|||
Say goodbye to what cannot be stopped,
But welcome what does not want to arrive,
And recognize what remains invisible,
And feel where calluses intervene,
And hear what speaks softly,
And walk where paths are narrow & impassable,
And think where thoughts flee,
Then. Night. Slowly. Disappear.
